- Suzi Gray, VN - Practice Manager
- Ashley McManus, VN
- Hester Small, VN
- Hilary Hayward, VN
- Angela Bettinson
Suzi Gray initially trained as a riding instructor at Edinburgh University and moved from her native Scotland to England 16 years ago to study veterinary nursing at Berkshire College of Agriculture. Suzi is the clinic’s Practice Manager, ensuring that all systems function as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Her Pug Beatrice, is the Clinic's official meeter and greeter.
Hilary Hayward qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1975 and spent the first ten years of her professional life at Cambridge University and the Heathrow Quarantine Station. Before joining us at the Portman Veterinary Clinic Hilary spent eight years working in emergency and critical care at the Elizabeth Street Veterinary Clinic. She is presently studying Animal Behaviour at Southampton University. Alice the Pug, Beatrice's mother, comes to work with Hilary, leaving at home two Siamese cats and one husband, Tony.
Ashley McManus has worked at the Portman Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years, having gained extensive clinical experience previously working in Dublin. Ashley has taken occasional sabbaticals, working in emergency and critical care at the Elzabeth Street Veterinary Clinic and traveling extensively. She is the clinic’s designated nurse for managing canine and feline endocrine disorders such as diabetes.
Hester Small has been a veterinary nurse (VN) for fourteen years and at the Portman Veterinary Clinic for over a decade. She loves working with people and their animals and has the curiously effective habit of singing to patients to soothe them when they are being treated. Hester dabbles in the fashion world, working for Weekenders, and is kept busy at home with her geriatric collie cross, not to mention her husband Henry.
Barbara Sherringham
Barbara, a registered osteopath, is at the clinic several times each week, helping dogs with chronic muscle, bone or joint conditions to control their pain and better use their limbs.
Colette Kase
For over 15 years Colette has been providing classes in primary dog training and offering one to one help with acquired behaviour problems. Colette provides weekly puppy classes at the church hall across the road from the clinic.
