If you feel you have an emergency:

• Carry out a quick physical examination.
• Watch for life-threatening shock. The signs of shock are pale gums, rapid breathing, general weakness, cool extremities and a weak or rapid pulse.
• Telephone 020 7730 9102 and explain what is happening. The person you will be speaking with is a qualified veterinary nurse. She will give you immediate advice, tell you what to do next and arrange for a vet to see you and your pet at Elizabeth Street.
